...but pulling the petals off of flowers is more fun! Yes, Judith is enjoying her pool and her summer activities. But now she is good at climbing out of the pool and wandering throughout the back yard. Of course this leads to encounters with flowers, and mud and dirt, and a few cherry tomatoes here and there. It's a wonderland of excitement for a small child!
We are very excited about our trip out to Chicago. We'll leave VERY early tomorrow morning and be gone for a week. No laptops for a week. Yeah! Oh, and we get to see our families. Yeah!!! Of course we know that our families are more interested in seeing Judith than in seeing us. But that's OK - she's cuter than us and we know it!
And we are also excited about seeing little Alex who seems to be growing like a weed, and seeing his baptism this weekend. Another exciting milestone.
Overall, our time this week is mostly focused on getting ready to get out of town. We ran errands yesterday and have more to do today. Of course I still need to handle laundry and get packed. And we need to finish cleaning the house. The last two trips we have left with a messy house, and we do not want to do that this time, because it is NO fun to come home to a messy house!
We shipped a box of toys out yesterday so that they'll be there tomorrow or Thursday. It's easier than carrying those items with us on the plane. And besides, so long as there are plastic containers, silverware, drawers without locks on them, Judith can keep herself quite well entertained for a long time. We have a feeling she is also going to be very excited about digging into Uncle John's CD collection again! Ahh - the delights of a home that is not child proofed!
Anyway, we are looking forward to seeing those of you that we can see in Chicago. And for everyone else, we'll post some pictures, etc., upon our return. An early happy August to you all!
